Several friends and I drove up to Yosemite to shoot the sunset on Horsetail Fall. Twice a year the sun sets in a position that lights the fall and if there is water running it looks like fire. The colors can be fantastic.
We had rain and snow during most of the window of opportunity so I wasn’t able to get up here on the day I thought would be best. On this day there were clouds but we hoped they wouldn’t obsure the fall. Arriving at our spot and setting up my tripod the sun was shining nicely on the fall and showing a lot of promise for later. Unfortunately as the afternoon wore on the clouds moved in blocking the sunlight.
